Water Licking!

Honestly, the last video was kind of lame. This one is action packed! I can tell you right now there is no way I would've done this at her age. Okay, okay. . . I don't think I'd even do it today.

Little Ms. Giggles

Maiki was having a ball spinning in circles. I tried to get her to do it on tape, but she just swung her arms and giggled.
(This is the first time I've ever posted a video clip. . . hopefully it works.)

Swimming at the Bountiful Bubble

I guess it's not really called the Bountiful Bubble when the bubble's not up, but I don't know the actual name. . . I'm guessing it's the Bountiful Rec. Center.

Yesterday we went swimming for the first time this summer. Putting on a swimmingsuit was really depressing, but it was well worth it to check out my water baby in action. Maiki is VERY cautious, but EXTREMELY adventurous. She will carefully check things out, then jump right in.=) She didn't like swimming at first, but then she didn't want out of the pool. She absolutely loves going down the slide and getting sprayed with the little fountains and guns. Maiki also enjoyed floating on her lilypad (a baby gift from Cory) in the lazy river.

Heidi and Ashlee were nice enough to invite us to hang out with their five boys. I love how well the six of them interact.

Hanging out w/the Poulsen Boys

Our summer is now well on its way. . .
Maiki had her second play date, and survived hanging out with THREE boys. It was nice to see Maiki actually play with other kids. I assumed that she'd be hesitant about the boys, but as you can see from the pics she LOVED it. Alek, Sammy, and Truman are great kids!
My favorite part of the day was when Sammy lectured Maiki on ditching her binky, "Only babies use binkies, and you're NOT a baby!"

Maiki & Elizabeth

Maiki and Elizabeth have had play dates since they were tiny. Marge and I have this weird bond because we shockingly had a billion things in common (unintentionally). I'll try to sum it up quickly: We both married AOL nerds named Chris, bought condos in Ogden, ended up renting the condos out (and still do); it took each of us a year and half to get pregnant, we finally got pregnant with girls, then we ended up having the same due date AND decorating our nurseries the same. (Elizabeth was born a few weeks early, so she's older than Maiki.) After all of this I just know that the girls are going to be life time friends.

Happy Father's Day!!!

These are my FAVORITE pictures of my two favorite people. =) Chris seriously is the BEST dad ever, and Maiki loves him more than anyone.

For those of you that don't know my older brother (Ryan) joined the army two months ago. He recently got divorced and needed a fresh start. This is the first time we've seen his four boys since he left.

Owen is on the phone w/Ry, telling his dad "Happy Saturday!"

To Sew, or Not to Sew???

For months I've been asking for a sewing machine; Chris finally got me one for Mother's Day. It ended up sitting in the box the entire time. So, the question was: Should I keep the sewing machine that I'll use a few times a year, or should I get Maiki a sweet playhouse, and sew at someone else's house? As you can see from the pictures I decided to get Maiki a house. =)

Maiki's 19th Month

This month Maiki has been running everywhere! She's definitely getting close to two. She is expanding her vocabulary with new words like: grandpa, stuck, and up. Honestly, she is a bit spoiled so all she has to do is whine and point.

New House

There are a ton of other pictures on the kodak site. =D

Chris' Sweet Mow Strip

Chris, Uncle Dave, Uncle Paul, and Grandpa Kaz have worked their butts off putting a mow strip around our yard. The fence company bid $2,700 and Chris did it for less than $500 (with a lot of man hours and endless buckets of sweat).

I'm a Mall Walker!?!

School finally ended and I've been trying to figure out what to do with all of my free time (other than golfing on Mondays). Maiki and I get up early to meet Grandpa Kaz at the Layton Hills Mall at 7am. We walk just over a mile, then Maiki plays in the playland. All the old ladies LOVE seeing Maiki, and Maiki loves waving and smiling at them.
