Maiki's First Time Golfing

We got bored the other day and decided to go golfing. All of our babysitters were sick or busy, so we decided to hire Josh as a golfing babysitter. The plan was to sneak Maiki on the course and to take turns watching her. It was an executive course, so we figured our plan could work. . . We loaded the carts, paid, and were on our way to the first tee when the desk worker chased after us screaming. He explained that their insurance didn't allow spectators under the age of 18. Instead of getting a refund and going home we decided to pay $8.50 for Maiki to come w/us. The guy was shocked and explained that Maiki would only be allowed out if she actually teed off. It's a good thing I grabbed one of her plastic clubs before we left.

Maiki loved riding in the cart w/mom and dad.

DHS Reunion Slideshow

I think the only person at the reunion dinner taking pictures was Amy Cragun, so I stole her slideshow. Hopefully the link sends you to the right place.

Amy-I hope you don't mind. . .

10 Year Reunion

Last weekend we had our 10 year high school reunion. It looks like all we did was golf, but we went to the fancy dinner at the Sheraton too. I was dumb and didn't take pictures. I think I'm still recovering from being forced to play the newleywed game. (Anyone that married someone from the class of '98 was coerced into playing. . . we lost.)
My mom hooked us up w/a golf lesson (@ Valley View) before the reunion tournament. =)
Cathy, Krissy, Beth, Annie, & Melissa @ Trio
Siolimi worked his magic and got us on to the course at Wolf Creek.
Check out how close our balls are! (Notice the 4th one is on the green.)

Mom's Hawaii 5-0 B-day Party

You only turn 50 once, so we decided to celebrate w/a Hawaii 50 party.
I feel kind of dumb because I still have no idea what that is; I just know I was able to reuse Beth's luau decorations. :)

Kristin and Leslie-Thank you for helping w/the party planning.
Beth-Thank you for letting us use your decorations.

Doctor's Appt.

Maiki had an appt. yesterday to check her weight and see how she's doing w/out her acid reflex medicine (prevacid). She is only 19 pounds 2 ounces (below the charts), and is 32 inches tall (in the middle of the charts). We weined her off the prevacid a few weeks ago, but once it was out of her system she started throwing up again; so, we put her back on it. The dr. said to put her back on a whole pill (daily), and we'll see if she gained some weight by her 2 year check up. Other than being a skinny little thing w/a slight heart murmur she's perfectly healthy!

Maiki's 20th Month

Maiki spent this month:
looking cool. . .
talking. . .
hanging w/the guys. . .
looking cute. . .
giving great hugs. . .
being carried around. . .
swimming. . .
drawing. . .
organizing. . .
and playing w/everything!

I can't believe our curious, little squirt is almost two!

4th of July

I know I'm a week late, but this week has been crazy! It's nearly mid July and I feel like I've got to hurry and get things done because summer is going to be over soon.

We spent the 4th at Grandpa Kaz's house. It's awesome because you can see the fireworks perfectly from his backyard, you have a clean bathroom close by, you don't have to worry about finding a parking space, and you don't have to fight the crowds.

Maiki loved the fireworks, but fell asleep halfway through. For those of you that haven't seen Layton's fireworks lately you should go next year; they were awesome. You know they are good if your only complaint is that they lasted too long. :)

Girl's Retreat 2008

Last weekend was our annual Girl's Retreat. It was sad because we had lower numbers than ever before, but it was really cool because everyone spent the night. Even though she's 7 1/2 months pregnant, Beth graciously hosted the retreat, and as always, did an amazing job. Thanks Beth (and Ryan)!
