1st My Gym Class
Maiki had her 1st My Gym class last Thursday, and it was AWESOME! I think it's well worth $55 for a four week session. Here's a link to the site if you want to check it out.

They rearrange the gym every week, so the kids don't get bored. They also have once a week freeplay, and once a month parents night out.

Ready for Korea
Chris and Maiki's passports finally arrived. I was amazed because I paid extra to have mine expedited, and it took 12 weeks; we went with normal delivery for theirs, and they arrived in three weeks.
Next summer we get to go to Korea for Jon and Sohee's wedding!!!
*I took Maiki's adorable picture off because we don't want anyone to try to steal her identity.

New Words
Maiki learns new words everyday! Yesterday she surprised me by saying SCHOOL.
Her favorite suffix is ie, so she frequently changes the end of words and replaces it with ie. She loves playing in the watie (water), and looking at new peepee (people).

Maiki is 22 months!
We took Celeste's advice and showed Maiki a cut/broken binky. She is a very logical kid, so that made sense to her. =) She's gone without a binky 90% of the time this month. We let her have it when she's sick, if she can't sleep, and if she finds one that she previously hid.
Last month Maiki spent most of her time running around in mom's flip flops, this month she has been trying taller shoes. It's a good thing she's coordinated and has a padded behind, otherwise her butt would be black and blue.
We just booked a trip to Las Vegas. It looks like Maiki gets to spend her 2nd birthday with her older brother, Jason. We'll make sure to take tons of pictures.
Get a flu shot!!!
The flu this year is HORRIBLE!!!
Maiki had it last Thursday. She started throwing up in the middle of the night and threw up for nearly six hours, then had an upset stomach for days. Then Chris and I got it Saturday night and had similar symptoms.=(
Maybe the flu shot is a good idea. . .

The Best Present
Maiki's Daycare
Maiki returned to Syracuse High School's daycare last Wednesday. Her transition has been great. She knows most of the kids and workers, and they all love her. It's really nice because the daycare is only 1/2 a mile from my work, and I can go visit her during my lunch break. Maiki's had a little separation anxiety. She usually cries for a few minutes every time we leave her, but she always does great (both w/sitters and at daycare).
Back to Work
I've been back at Syracuse Jr. since mid August. As you can tell from the blog (or lack there of) it's been a little busier than normal. I know I'm not a normal mom, but I feel soooo much better when I'm working! Some peoople have asked about the school. . . Yes, it's true we have over 1,500 students, and 18 portables!!! They are currently building a new jr. high in West Layton to help deal w/our crowd. I'm still teaching 7th grade English and here are pics of the school and my room:
I LOVE being in a portable. It's awesome because I can come and go whenever I want, and I have AIR CONDITIONING!
